SEE Finance offers the ability to use Direct Connect downloads with hundreds of financial institutions and
can also import data from thousands of others using Web Connect downloads. If your institution does not support the
Direct Connect protocol for downloading account data directly into software, most likely they do support the Web Connect
protocol allowing you to import your account data in a few simple steps. Please check out the information below to learn
more about the Direct Connect and Web Connect download options.
Direct Connect
1. Direct Connect Requirements
A. To use Direct Connect downloads your institution must support this service. See the
"Institutions Supporting Direct Connect Account Downloads" list at the
bottom of the page to see if your institution supports Direct Connect downloads.
B. Most institutions require users to be enrolled specifically for this service and also usually
have special user login information just for this service. Many institutions also charge a fee for this service. If your
institution has different levels of fees for this service based on "Online Access" or "Online Access plus Online Bill Pay", you
should not upgrade and pay for the additional Online Bill Pay service as SEE Finance does not currently
support Online Bill Pay.
2. Direct Connect Setup
A. First make sure you have the requirements needed and are setup with your institution to use this service.
Some institutions also have to setup the service for Macs and PCs, so for example, even if you used Quicken® on a PC you might
need to be setup to use Quicken® on a Mac. If you inquire with your institution's website, look for login and setup info
for Quicken® Mac 2007 because your institution and their support may have no information for setting up
SEE Finance. SEE Finance uses the same protocol and login info as Quicken® Mac 2007.
B. Once setup and enrolled with your institution to use the Direct Connect service you can setup your
account in SEE Finance. You can create a new account by choosing the "Get Account Information from
Financial Institution" option or you can setup an existing account for downloads by selecting the desired account and then
selecting "Setup Downloads..." from the "Accounts" menu. For more specific details on setting up downloads and downloading
transactions please check out the application's help files.

Web Connect
1. Web Connect Requirements
A. To use Web Connect downloads your institution must support this service. Web Connect is simply
the ability to log into your institution's website and download a file containing your account information in one of the
following formats: OFX (sometimes listed as the "Microsoft® Money 2007 or Later" option), QFX (sometimes listed as the
"Quicken® Web Connect 2007 or Later" option), QIF (sometimes listed as the "Microsoft® Money 2006 or Earlier" or
"Quicken® 2006 or Earlier" option), or CSV format. Most institutions provide this option free of charge, however, some
may require enrollment and/or charge additional fees.
2. Web Connect Setup
Simply log into you institution's online website to access your account history and download your account history in one of
the file formats mentioned above (OFX, QFX, QIF, or CSV). Then import this file and its data into a
SEE Finance account by selecting the desired account and its transactions register view and then
selecting the "Import Transactions..." option from the "Accounts" menu. This process can be simplified further by using
SEE Finance's built in browser so you never have to leave the application. You can simply use the built in
browser, while in an account, to login into your institution's website and download a file containing your account information.
Once the file has downloaded, SEE Finance will ask if you would like to import this file into your account.

Direct Connect & Web Connect Data Security
If you choose to use Direct Connect account downloads, you can choose to save your account login information in Apple's
Keychain or not at all. There are no account numbers, login names or passwords saved in one of our files. This is
the recommendation for all applications that need to save and use sensitive information, using Apple's Keychain, and is
used by Apple's own applications. The only time critical personal information is read into the software is with
Direct Connect account downloads and importing QFX and OFX files. With Direct Connect downloads the software will
request the login information from you and let you decide to save it in Apple's Keychain or not, then it requests
info back and forth with your institution using a secure connection. The information sent back and forth are actually
OFX files and these files are not saved at all either during downloads or when you import the files manually as they
contain personal account information, unless the user opted to do so (note QFX files are Quicken®'s version of OFX
files with additional fields added). When you come back and download account data again the software requests the
needed info from the Apple Keychain if it exists or asks for your input for the needed information. There are three
key pieces of information needed for account downloads: account number, account login name (sometimes also the
account number), and account login password. In our program, all three items are saved in Apple's Keychain or not
all based on user choice.
Institutions Supporting Direct Connect Account Downloads:
Direct Connect downloads are primarily only supported by U.S. institutions.
This list of institutions is subject to change at any time.
